A busy week of staggered entry for students and final classroom prep for the official start to the NCPK/preschool school year deserves to be celebrated! A yummy lunch and time of fellowship were just the way to end the week, and now this awesome group of staff members can’t wait to greet our kiddos bright and early on Monday morning. Good Sunday evening, CPC families! This is Mrs. Wood with updates and reminders for the week ahead.
It was wonderful to see each of you at open house this past week. It may have been a rainy afternoon, but the smiling and excited faces of our students brought the sunshine inside.
As you know, we will have staggered entry for our students this week. Your teacher has assigned a date for your child to attend a partial day of school. Please reach out if you have any questions.
Dojo will be used as a way to communicate with CPC families internally. Please make sure you have joined Dojo if you have not already done so. If you have any questions about how to join, please reach out to your child’s teacher.
PTO is taking orders for CPC t-shirts. Information about how to order shirts will go home the first week of school in our schoolwide yellow folder.
Tuesday of each week will be yellow folder day at CPC. This folder will be used for schoolwide communication and will include the weekly newsletter and any other information that is being sent out to the families of all students. The first yellow folder day will be Tuesday, September 1st.
We are excited to get our school year underway and look forward to getting to know you and your child! Working together, we will be able to make CPC be the best place to be!

This great looking group of staff members is ready to keep those wheels on the bus rolling at CPC! Hitting the roads before the sun rises will be the norm for these drivers and monitors, but they are ready to help our precious cargo travel to and from school safely each day! Thank you just doesn’t seem sufficient! 😊🚌👏
Our building was buzzing with excitement with the return of staff today! A busy morning of a delicious breakfast and opening meeting information and activities led to a busy afternoon of starting to get classrooms set up and ready. All we need now are students to make things complete! Looking forward to meeting them soon! 😊
Whoever said, “It takes a village,” was exactly right! We are thankful for the neighbors of Beau Coast for adopting our school for the “Welcome Back Breakfast” for our staff! Thank you for supporting our school and for making us part of your village. People like you are what help make Carteret County such a special place!
Know of families that may need assistance with back to school supplies? School supply distribution will take place on Wednesday, August 12 from 8-11 AM at Parkview Baptist Church in Morehead City. Students must attend with the adult. 🚌🍎

We had the BEST day at the aquarium today! 🐠🦈 The boys and girls had so much fun exploring, learning, and seeing all the amazing sea creatures up close!

Our halls were filled with elves, Grinches, and all kinds of merry magic today! The kids looked adorable, the staff had a blast, and the holiday spirit is definitely in full swing. ❤️💚
Items from Ms. Christie’s Bright Ideas Grant have begun arriving, and our students are loving all the new materials! The STEM Explorers: Sensory Science Lab for Pre-K is already bringing so much joy, curiosity, and hands-on learning to our classroom.
